  • I was stationed in Germany with 2RCR advance party from early 1953 to late 1955 as a radio operator and gunner on a anti tank gun(17 pounder). On return to Canada I transferred to 1TPT RCASC and returned to Germany at Fort Chambly in 1957 and stayed on extended duty till late 1962.That supposedly was when the Cold War was really cold but we still managed to enjoy ourselves.Thank you for asking me to be a friend and my wife and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.  Donald Parks

  • Leo - good to see your post. You and I and our daughters go back a long, long way - 2RCR Germany (65-68) through to Washington D.C. We live in Columbus, Georgia, now - been here for 9 years conducting business for General Dynamics Land Systems (Strykers/Abrams) at Ft. Benning, which now has both the Infantry and Armor (US spelling..) Schools .. trains 148,000 soldiers a year. Love it here. Take care of yourself...
