  • Hi Madeson.

It was a great time- thanks!  Its fun to get some of the corporate America inside view of big business transportation/vehicles/drivers training and issues and new 'stuff'. Makes my heart pitter a bit... haha! The 'better half' is in upper management of the automotive division of a large international company- makes for great dinner banter!

I am feeling a bit like an airport yoyo tho, we are off to California this weekend for marathon fun in some warmer sun, then I am actually looking forward to a few weeks of staying on the ground at home!  Hope all is well with you-

  • Hi Madeson,

Thank you for your kind comments and interest. The three books I have researched and written todate are: "Soldier Priest in The Killing Fields of Europe - WW1"; "To Serve and Protect: The Newfoundland Constabulary on The Home Front WW2"; "Fallen Boy Soldiers of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment - WW1." [DRC Publishing - St. John's]. My books have been acclaimed by Dr. Steven High, Canada Research Chair in Public History, Concordia University. If you are interested in burchasing any of my books you can do that directly through my publishers - DRC Publishing (709-726-0960). I can personalize the books for you; all you have to do is ask my publisher that I do so. I have done this for people in Canada, U.S. and in Europe. Madesion, just Google > Gary Browne Newfoundland> and you will see loads of information. As a former Ports Canada Officer you will truly love "To Serve and Protect" - much in it is about clandestine matters in St. John's Harbour in WW2. I am extremely proud of my police and military background!! Great to chat with you, please add me as a friend. My home number is 709-726-6617 gary.browne@nf.sympatico.ca Slainte..........Gary

  • Hello Madeson, so you spent sometime in Halifax. Thought you had a little Bluenoser in you ha. Yes, your right, the best years of my life were with the Guards. An experience not many would forget. Not many today will ever have the feeling that your ready to die for the guy next to you. That was never more obvious then when serving with the Guards Regiment. Sadly, many of the guys are passing on far too quickly and with them goes vast memories of serving with the finest Regiment of men that could ever be mustered. Stay well and live long. As Don said below, the rain hasn't stopped since April or so it seems.  Take care.   Bill
  • HI MADESON GREAT TO SEE YOU ON HERE, RAIN IN THE EAST TODAY BUT NOT TO BAD.
