  Hi Doug, I haven't forgotten you. Just been pretty busy trying to help set this site up so we can get more members. Got to pull out my old photo albums and bring back some names from the past.   Hi Doug, I haven't heard the words "Spy Hill" for 30-odd years. I too, was in the Golan in 1979. (actually 11 Oct 1978 to 11 April 1979) I was the (MCpl) Det Comd for Iranbatt. They got booted out by the Israelis after the Iranian Revolution when the Shaw was exiled and Ayatollah Khomeini came into power. I'm almost positive that the Finns took over their duties and positions, which means you inherited the Det from me. I had heard about you but I don't think we had a formal handover because of flight schedules, etc. Say, did you ever get that space heater working without poisoning someone??

  We had quite a few ladies in the camp, a block full of juniors and then some senior staff as well. We were under the banner of CCUNDOF (not sure what MovCon was...guess that was back in the 80s or after the mid 90s). I was a finance clerk back then and then the amalgamation with the administration trade in the late 90s to Resource Management Support clerk.
