  • Hey John! I was just going through some old papers and photos. I found an UNDOF Signal Troop Nominal Roll sheet from 1979.

You and your fellow IranBatt detachment members are listed (Bill MacKinnon / Ralph Davis / Claudien Cote). This was early in my tour because I am listed under Reg Arsenault at the Qnaitra Commcen. I was later sent to Damascus for a couple months then after that my last couple months were spent at FinCoy (which replaced IranBatt).

  •    John I have not joined the group as I do not meet the standards of the group.

I was trained as aRCEME rat in 69 did a tour to Alert and upon returning to 207 wksp

I was posted to 1CSR and employed in 2Sqn but kept my RCEME hat badge I was deployed to unef 2 in 73 but still kept my original hat badge and flashes. From !CSR was moved to cfs Inuvik from there after 3 years i moved to cfs Leitrim still no sigs badge. from there posted to CFS Bermuda there I got a CE hat badge. After 3 years was posted to 79 Com Regt as their first FOFS still no sig flashes I retired in 95 so I can not meet the requirements to join your group .

  • I go by Bill to most, and I feel for all our Veternan's even if I don't know them. I appreciate what they have gone thru and given up for their service. I may not have served as long as some or in theatre, But I respect and Honour them always.
