  • Hey Sheeps - everything is fine on the rock, but thinking of bolting for Aus again really soon.  I go down on a fairly regular basis - one can ride a motorcycle all year around - how good is that.  In full retirement mode now and all is we;; - enjoying myself especially in the spring and summer months - if I were a snowmobiler I'd have it all covered.  No not on Facebook meownself, I'll check out the site.  Don't see to many of the old crowd about down this way - run into Ron Walsh occasionally - I think everybody else passed on :-O  Take care Sheepers

    Yours aye - Dave

  • Hi Larry - I had two careers in the military - our branch in the regs and almost 9 years as a reservist RMS (Admin) clerk.  I did a tour in Alert Oct 2010-Apr 2011 as chief clerk - sort of a 60th B'day present before they threw me out the door for being a drain on the public purse :D  Anyway, I was offered a job as a civilian contractor with Canadian Base Operators during that period and just finished up a year with them (3 more tours).  They didn't win the contract this year so I've gone to retirement mode.  Just came out of Alert on Friday at the end of my last rotation.  How's things going with you these days?  Well and enjoying life I trust - Cheers , Dave

  • Hi Larry.......I see you're enjoying retirement.  I just made contact with Gary Audette on FB, wonderful that we can all get in touch with each other after just a few years.  I hope all is well with the family....  Cheers!!
  • Hi Larry:

  • Hi Larry; Sorry about delay in contacting you again....I have been busy with Grandchildren and my son's wife Kim. My son is WO Coyle, M.S., now serving in Afghanistan and only has 37 days to go....he will be some glad to get out of there. Only a few Canadians working with him at the JVB(Joint Visitors Bureau) in Kandahar. We are heading for Smiths Falls to pick up our 5th wheel RV and put it in Victoria Park for the summer somewhere around 1st May. We will be there all summer. I have Family/Kin there so it's a convenience to have our RV there. I see a few of the boys once in a while. Seen Spurgeon Roscoe(Spud) once in a while but has moved from area. Also talk with Earl/Ruth Brydon on occasion, and; we see Ross Burton in Kingston once in a while. It's great keeping in contact...Ole Timers 2011 Reunion 25th-27th June in Leitrim but I'm not sure whether I will be able to make it. I usually go through the old 291'er Web Site to see whose still around and activities that are going on.  Anyway, Hope you and the Mrs are well. Drop a line when you have time........Harry Coyle
  • Hi Larry, Still a little fuzzy regarding our comradship in the Navy, in particular, 291'er or

Supplementary Radio, Communication Research. It's been a long time that's for sure.

The name obviously is familiar...keep trying to think back and it may come back to me all at once....see I told you it's been a long time and believe it or not, I'm getting older/mature...or something like that...lol. Coverdale comes to mind, also Alert, also Gloucester....better refresh my memory..ha ha...nice to hear from you all the same...drop a line when you can..........Harry

  • I was in 1 CSR in 73, went to Eqypt in Nov, returned June 74 but left for Germany in Sept 74. The Nickname Sheepers rings a bell though

  • Hey Sheepers! How're ya doin' these days? Glad to see that there's some of the old gang still about.
