Further to your request concerning Art Crabbe. I was finally able to track down his sister-in-law here in town and learned, sadly, that Art had been killed in a traffic accident (vehicle roll-over) years ago. She believes it was about 15 years ago or so. Her husband, Arts brother, has also passed away several years ago. Neepawa is a retired farmers community and the average vehicle speed here is about 15 kph - drives me crazy, but....
Anyway, regrets on the info. Anything else, let me know.
I see you served on the Terra Nova. Did you ever know a fellow named Fleming Hansen? He lived down the dtreet from me in Wpg and after he came home on his 1st leave, I was impressed enough that I went down to the Navy and enlisted - just like my Father before me and his Father before him! When I told my Dad, he went nuts and asked if I was out of my mind to join the Navy. He said the Air Force is the way to go and soooo - I went back to the recruiter the next day, explained my predicament and he walked me across the hall to the "RCAF" where I was duly signed up. The RCN recruiter then tore up my Navy paperwork - and thus began my love affair with discipline, work, etc, etc, yadda yadda, etc. Although, I truly did very much enjoy my 30 year career.
Must go - the snow blower awaits me after last nights blizzard!!
