Hello Joseph ! Good to touch base with you (per ardua ad astra) We Airforce blue (RCAF) guys have to stick together, eh ;-) So I gather you joined the RCAF in Moncton, I did too in 1954, I enjoyed the service life very much, and miss all my old friends very much. I spent many years at RCAF Stn., St. Hubert due mainly to the fact that my youngest son needed to be handy to the Montreal Childrens Hospital, he was a bleeder, therefore needed clotting factor 3 times a week , sadly to say we lost Randy when he was 38 years old. Anyway Joseph think we can both agree that the RCAF is/was one heck of an organization, am proud to say that I have served for 32 years. Take care Joseph.
I do check my mail once in a while .Thanks for the message .
I have been in the Gizeh Shrine Patrol since 1988 . Have travelled far and wide with them .
On parade in San Francisco many years ago on the 4th of July .I still remember the Veterans come to attention as we marched past with our Canadian flags as we did our street drill .They would give us a snappy salute and a Thanks Canada for coming.
What a differance a kind word makes .
Also in 1994 a member of the Patrol Bill Shollert became Potantate that year and we flew to Hawaii that year and enjoyed our visit there very much Bill layed a wreath at the Arizona on our behalf in a ceremony there also we took part in the Aloha Days Parade in Honolulu.Bill served in the RCAF and was posted to an RAF Squadron in England as a tail gunner in a Lancaster during WW2 after his year as Potentate he became our Captain in the Patrol
Yes I joined the shrine in 93, and Gizeh Temple for British Columbia /Yukon is our HQ, by the way were you in Clinton 1985 I was there training the Gold Star Cadets then I took them on the UKLF exchange to Britian. We worked with the 2nd. Bat. Royal Anglian Reg. and the 49th Gurkah Reg.

Hi Joseph,
I see that we have a friend in common, I went to school with Richard Van Horn, in Boundry Bay, and Ladner High , British Columbia.
Ray Matwick
Sorry to hear about Reg Macdonald, was he not the pay clerk? I went to a 1 AIR
DIV. reunion last fall ( it included 4 ATAF as well as all 4 wings), the only guys I
knew were Dink Talbot from the cave and Richard Wasalasko from Metz. The next
reunion is in Vancouver in 2013. Look on the webb for details.
Dick
I think the S/L's name was Cooper but was looking for some confirmation. Are
you in contact with any one else that was in 4ATAF in the mid 60's?
That Dr. Smith sounds like a nice guy to know.
Dick
Thanks for the quik responce, I worked under a S/L.......... in communications,
perhaps you can supply his name. I only got to the head shed once or twice a
month to collect my tdy expences so didn't know many by name.
Dick
Joseph, I also was in Metz from 62 to 64, then 4ATAF from 64 to 68. As a 221/rigger
I spent all my time on the road looking after microwave towers and antenna's. Your name
is familiar but I can't remember where you worked. Dick
